The 4 “Cs”

Our pedagogical model promotes “human excellence” built upon four competencies to provide students with a holistic and integrated education:

To be able to face and overcome professional, social and human obstacles.

Compassionate

With others, demonstrating our empathy and solidarity.

Committed

To social and political transformation for a fairer society from a social and environmental perspective.

Procedural education

We guide students on a personal growth journey based on a learning process that implies their complete and in-depth education. This methodology encompasses four dimensions:

  1. Context
    Understanding where students are and where they develop.     
  2. Experience
    Facilitating a cognitive, affective and global reconciliation with reality.
  3. Reflection
    Critically capturing the meaning of everything experienced and preparing to make decisions.
  4. Action
    Making decisions and choosing coherent options, behaviours and actions after that careful reflection.

Teaching style

Esade’s teaching style and its actions are based on Ignatian spirituality:

We guide and take care of students throughout their journey at Esade.

Personal guidance

We encourage students to discover the next steps they have to take, through dialogues between equals, active listening and conversations.

Magis growth

We aim for students to move forward on their journeys, making decisions that enable them to grow through a process based on personal and professional maturity.
