How we did it:

Emissions offsetting:

  • Catalonia: Pool of credits available through registration in the voluntary agreements of the regional government, in the case of projects of a social nature.
  • Spain: Sustainable Forests Project, registered with Spain’s Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge — a national reforestation project.
  • Voluntary market: Cykel Project (Pará, Brazil) that includes aspects including reforestation, wildlife recovery and social issues.

Today, we are one of the first university institutions to achieve neutrality at the national and international level! Together we can achieve even more. Are you with us?

Dra. Elena Bou, 1st Nobel Prize for Sustainability

Professor Elena Bou has been awarded the first Nobel Prize for Sustainability for her outstanding work in the research and development of sustainable energies. This prestigious recognition, granted by the Nobel Sustainability Trust and the Technical University of Munich, also values the contribution of EIT InnoEnergy, a research institute created by Prof. Bou, in the promotion of green energy among European start-ups.

This honour is in addition to the 20 awards our professors have received in total, 8 of which are also related to sustainability.

Its members contribute their knowledge and experience by offering advice to Esade and its current faculty. They also participate in meetings and activities that help them maintain their bonds with each other and with Esade.

Esade Magistri’s first meeting was held in February 2024. The initiative allows us to pay tribute to — and continue to benefit from — their excellent academic careers, human qualities, and scientific work. It also contributes to our diversity, equality, and inclusion goals and promotes knowledge-sharing across generations.
