Fomenting your language skills
Gradual Spanish – English program
English classes are compulsory throughout the program: You’ll finish with the equivalent of the Advanced level. In addition, the curriculum combines subjects in Spanish with others taught in English, for example, Legal Ethics or Comparative Law. Subjects in English are incorporated progressively so that, when you finish the program, 40% of the subjects you complete will have been in English.
Compulsory English
In addition to subjects taught in English, you’ll also have to enrol in year-long English language classes the first three years of the program. These include Legal English: You’ll acquire all the vocabulary and typical expressions used in Law practice. If you like, you can also complete a fourth optional course to help you achieve the Proficiency level of English.
Second language
Once the compulsory level of English has been completed, you will be able to study a 2nd language, to choose between French, German, Mandarin or Arabic.
You will study either language up to 6 hours per week with native-speaking faculty in small yet highly participatory classes. Your mastery of these languages will not only include being familiar with legal vocabulary but also key competencies such as oratory skills and writing legal documents.

What are language classes like?
The language classes you complete during the program, whether the compulsory English classes or optional languages, apply a practical methodology focused on legal content. You’ll learn each language working on mini case studies, carrying out research, making presentations, participating in role-playing activities and debates, public-speaking, presenting legal arguments to your classmates and participating in case retrials (analyses of case facts).
As a result, you’ll learn to fluidly interact in a natural way in international legal settings.
