  • Marketing Research and Analytics: Applications in Big Data and AI
Today’s world is exploding with data on consumers as well as new abilities to observe customers in naturalistic settings. This creates an unprecedented ability to generate valuable insights for companies, policymakers, and marketers. This course empowers students to generate such insights themselves – an increasingly important and relevant skill – by giving them tools to conduct marketing research. The course reviews how to formulate a research question, how to select the most appropriate analytical approach, and how to collect high-quality data to answer it. This course will be hands-on, and will also discuss new and important findings from marketing research using big data and AI.
  • Marketing and Sustainability
The BBA program at Esade offers an initial course on Marketing and Sustainability within the Marketing Minor to align with Esade's sustainability values. This course precedes mandatory marketing courses, reflecting Esade's commitment to holistic education. It introduces students to marketing as more than just consumption enhancement, emphasizing sustainability. Incorporating aspects of critical pedagogy, it aims to foster students' ability to question, transform knowledge, and become responsible citizens. This critical approach is vital in marketing, where teaching sustainability goes beyond concepts to emphasize the "how" as much as the "what" of sustainability education.

Third year

  • Innovation in Marketing: Creativity, New Products and Design
The course will enable students to develop their knowledge of marketing by deepening their understanding of how innovation and marketing are intertwined in the current business environment. More precisely, we will explore questions such as: How do innovation and marketing influence each other? Can the boundaries of innovation, creativity, R&D, new product development, and design be defined? What are the relationships among them? What are the challenges of design as a tool for innovation in marketing? Although executives aim for bold innovations, are truly differentiated new products as common as before? What are the challenges of developing new products nowadays? What should managers do to be more creative and foster innovation? Can emerging technologies boost creativity? What are the trends regarding these fascinating and relevant topics? The course takes a hands-on approach based on the analysis of best practices and workshops.
