Engaging Stakeholders, Monitoring Impact and Changing Systems

Program details

From Knowledge to Impact is an intensive three-day course  co-designed and jointly delivered by Esade Center for Social Impact (ECSI), Esade FusionLab, and WE&B Academy. It equips professionals working on technical, scientific or innovation projects with the skills needed to turn knowledge into tangible social and environmental impact and how to communicate that to different stakeholders.

The program tackles a key challenge: how to ensure that strong technical results are effectively understood, adopted, and translated into real change. Participants build practical capabilities across four core areas:

  • Understanding context: analyzing societal dynamics and stakeholder ecosystems.
  • Designing for change: applying social innovation frameworks such as Living Labs and co-creation approaches.
  • Measuring impact: using Theory of Change and IMM tools to guide and improve outcomes.
  • Engaging stakeholders: communicating effectively to mobilize action and foster ownership.

Rooted in real research projects and field experience, this course bridges academic rigor with hands-on application.

Participants learn from experienced faculty and practitioners from Esade and WE&B Academy, with expertise in impact measurement, co-creation methodologies, research-to-impact translation and stakeholder engagement. Drawing on experience in European projects, innovation labs and social initiatives, they bring practical tools, real cases, and actionable insights that can be directly applied to participants’ work.

Academic information

The course lasts three days, from Tuesday to Thursday, with sessions from 9.30h until 18.30h.

This course fosters an impact-driven, action-oriented mindset that goes beyond technical excellence to focus on real-world change. Participants develop a systems and context-aware way of thinking, learning to view projects within broader social dynamics. It also builds a collaborative and co-creative mindset, valuing inclusion, participation and shared ownership. At the same time, it promotes a learning-oriented approach, where measuring impact is used to continuously improve rather than just report. Overall, the program cultivates professionals who are not only problem-solvers but also change-makers capable of translating knowledge into meaningful and lasting impact.
