Experience day-to-day reality in companies and law firms
The methodology applied in the Double Degree in Business Administration and Law allows you to learn progressively about two different disciplines: the business and legal fields. For this, its curriculum combines a rigorous theoretical background with practical and experiential learning which will immerse you in the day-to-day reality of both companies and law firms. This immersion will increase progressively in keeping with the learning-by-doing philosophy: As the semesters go by, you’ll take part in a growing number of practical experiences inside and outside of class.
Practical learning-by-doing methodology
- Participatory classes
- Resolving real case studies that integrate both the corporate and legal worlds
- Management, business projects and start-up simulations
- Participation in business competitions and games
- Participation in debate leagues and international moot courts (trial simulations)
- Outdoor experiences
- Research projects
- Independent study and teamwork.

Student First: A new educational experience
Student First is Esade’s new methodology, connecting with the latest educational trends and based on a fundamental concept: students’ active participation. With the Student-First methodology, you and your classmates will actively participate in generating knowledge, and your work will contribute to the collective learning process.
One of the major differences with respect to traditional methodologies is that you have to come to class having already prepared the subject to be discussed in class. This is what is known as the flipped classroom, which comprises three phases:
Preparing for class
Reading, researching and watching or listening to multimedia content on the basic concepts to be addressed in class.
In-class work
Sharing the knowledge you’ve acquired with your classmates and faculty through debates, reflections, resolving case studies and challenges and completing projects.
After class
Furthering your understanding and reflection, applying the concepts acquired to other areas.
Advantages of the Student-First methodology
- You internalise knowledge more naturally.
- When you come to class, you will already have questions and doubts to share and address.
- Classes are much more enriching: You focus on applying your knowledge and you receive inputs from both faculty and classmates.
- It prepares you for the future: You learn to apply this technique in different circumstances and to work collaboratively with others.
- You will be more open to learning about new things.
