Esade MBA: one of the top 20 in the world in Financial Times ranking
The Financial Times ranks the Esade Business School Full-Time MBA 20th best in the world and 9th best in Europe, thanks in particular to the MBA’s excellent results in exposure and international experience (7th in the world and 4th in Europe); international mobility (7th in the world); students’ career advancement (7th in Europe) and post-MBA wage increase (4th in Europe). The Financial Times ranking also highlighted the achievement of students’ aims (8th in Europe) and their great satisfaction, areas in which this programme was rated 9.25/10 by students.
According to Josep Franch, dean of Esade Business School, these results are “an acknowledgement of the Esade educational experience based on a unique teaching method featuring a combination of skill development, academic rigour and hands-on experience involving the flipped classroom concept and team work in real-life projects and case studies”. “We use,” Franch went on, “a unique blended method featuring the most innovative teaching materials such as gamification and state-of-the-art simulators with foremost companies. In these learning communities, students acquire all sorts of skills and are constantly involved in a wide range of activities both inside the classroom, through live and recorded sessions, and outside, in unique ecosystems such as our Rambla of Innovation.”
This unique educational experience also received special acclaim from The Economist, as 7th best in the world (and 3rd best in Europe) in the ranking they published in January, which also placed this programme amongst the top 20 in the world in its category.
Top rankings in globalisation and career advancement
Esade’s acclaim in international rankings regarding globalisation in the classroom is due to the broad international spectrum of their students. Of the 186 students currently taking the Full-Time MBA, 98% hail from outside Spain (45 nationalities in all) with 28% from Latin America and the Caribbean; 26% from Europe; 24% from Asia; 11% from North America; 7% from the Middle East and 3% from Africa.
Another factor highlighted by both the Financial Times and The Economist is the career advancement of Esade students, as demonstrated by the fact that 91% of the students who graduated last year found jobs within three months of graduation, despite being in the throes of a pandemic. Many global companies in a wide variety of industries turn to Esade for candidates, such as Amazon, Facebook, Boston Consulting Group and EY.
In the words of Josep Franch, this level of employability and career advancement is thanks to “Esade’s ability to equip students with the skills and techniques necessary to analyse and understand different industries, work in a wide range of settings, and develop and manage all sorts of projects. These are all skills increasingly sought after in the job market.” “In addition, the training students receive during this programme prepares them to seek new job opportunities faster than other professionals and even facilitates the creation of new career opportunities through entrepreneurship, an essential part of an education at Esade since its inception,” finalised the dean of Esade Business School.
