ESADE Foundation Assembly of Trustees holds its annual meeting at the Sant Cugat campus
The meeting and subsequent lunch discussion featured the participation of the presidents, CEOs and other executives who sit on the Assembly of Trustees, the ESADE Foundation Board of Trustees and the ESADE Challenge Board, as well as invited business leaders
The ESADE Foundation Assembly of Trustees held its annual meeting on 24th May. This year’s meeting was hosted for the first time by ESADE’s international Sant Cugat campus, an ecosystem where academic innovation coexists with business innovation. The lunch discussion featured a talk by Shlomo Ben-Ami, Vice-President of the Toledo International Centre for Peace.
Eugenia Bieto, Director General of ESADE, took stock of the past year at ESADE. She highlighted the current challenges and ESADE’s strong commitment to innovation, as well as the school’s progress in educational innovation (Student First), its new digital training programmes and the Rambla of Innovation. Oriol Alcoba, Director General of ESADECREAPOLIS, then gave a presentation on the CREAPOLIS “innovation ecosystem”, calling it a great asset for Spain’s research and innovation system.
The meeting – which was chaired by Manuel Raventós, Chair of the ESADE Foundation Board of Trustees – closed with a presentation by Shlomo Ben-Ami entitled “Global Order or Disorder?” One of the highlights of Mr. Ben-Ami’s talk was his assertion that the future will be decided not by our political leaders but by technology. He also remarked that Europe neither intimidates or inspires, and predicted that the continent will likely remain more focused on internal discussions than on being a global leader.
