The loan service allows you to borrow documents from the Esade library
How it works / how to use it
To borrow items from the Library, you must show your individual and non-transferable TUI card, which is also available on the Esade app.
Documents can be borrowed from and returned to any Esade Library location (Sant Cugat or Pedralbes). To check out an item, you must stop by the loan desk or the self-loan machine.
How many documents can I borrow and for how long?
The number of documents a person can borrow simultaneously varies depending on the type of user and the type of document.
- Students and Esade Alumni

Loan period: White label 30 days | Green label 15 days | Yellow label 7 days - PhD students
Number of documents: 10
Loan period: White label 21 days | Green label 15 days | Yellow label 7 days - Faculty and Staff
Number of documents: 30
Loan period: White label 60 days | Green label 15 days | Yellow label 7 days
Documents with a red label cannot be borrowed.
A loan can be renewed up to six times, as long as no one else has reserved the document.
Reserving a document
In My account, you can reserve a document that you are interested in (whether it is currently available or not). You can also cancel a reservation and consult the status of a request.
Renewing a loan
A loan can be renewed as long as no one else has reserved the document.
You can renew a loan up to six times, via My account, by telephone or by email. If you want to renew a loan for the seventh time, you must return the document to the Library and borrow it again.
Shipment of documents between campuses
We can ship documents to any campus if you make a reservation via My account.
Basic bibliography items and journals are excluded from this service.
Madrid campus
If you work or attend classes on the ESsade Madrid campus, you can request the shipment of library books through your programme manager.
Penalties
If you return a document after the due date, you will be penalised with one day without service for each day the item was overdue.
If you damage or lose a borrowed document, you must replace it with an identical item or, if this is not possible, pay the cost of the item.
Documents not available at Esade
Ramon Llull University (URL) loans
If Esade does not have a document you need, you can request it from another library in the Ramon Llull University (URL) network
Consortial Borrowing (PUC)
If Esade does not have a document you need, you can request it from another library in the Consortium of Catalan University Libraries (CBUC) via the Consortial Borrowing (PUC) system.
Inter-library loans
If you cannot obtain a document through a URL or PUC loan, you can request an inter-library loan.
