Girls in STEM Esade Challenge
What is the Girls in STEM Esade Challenge about?
The application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming business and society. A new generation of information systems can predict results based on data series and extract patterns from them without the need for in-depth knowledge of the physical, biological or social phenomena hidden behind the data. Machines can now learn from themselves based on experience. For the first time in history, massive data availability (from social networks, digitized industries, connected vehicles, mobile devices and more), the computational capacity to process it, and the knowledge to design powerful AI algorithms are converging.
Given this exciting situation, we have created the 2-part Girls in STEM Esade Challenge:
- Tell us which use of AI has surprised you the most.
- Identify a problem and describe your proposal of how an AI system would contribute to the solution.
What are we looking for?
- The originality of your proposal and AI solution.
- How your proposal contributes to at least two of the three P's of business (profit, people, and planet). In other words, it should go beyond being a simple business solution and have positive effects on the business community, society and/or the environment.
Presentation guidelines
1. A slide presentation (maximum 5 pages) containing:
A. The use of AI that has surprised you the most.
B. Your description of the problem to be solved and your solution that applies data & AI.
C. An explanation of how your solution contributes to at least two of the three P's of business
2. Prepare a 4-minute-long video with an explanation of your proposals for points B & C.
· All documents and video should be presented in English.
· The slide presentation must contain the project/problem title and your personal information: name(s) and surname(s), nationality, country of residence, school name, e-mail and contact telephone number.
Competition outline
Stage 1
Solution & video submission by 14 April 2026. Any proposals or documents received at a later date than the deadline stipulated in the rules of this challenge will not be accepted.
Stage 2
Winner & runner-up will be announced on 20 April 2026 by the Esade Girls in STEM Esade Challenge Committee.
Eligibility criteria
The challenge is open to female high school students graduating in 2026 and 2027.

Winner
- 100% rebate on the tuition fee for the first year of the Double Degree - Bachelor of Business Administration & Bachelor in Business and Artificial Intelligence or the Bachelor in Business and Artificial Intelligence
- Plus free Esade Admissions Test
Runner-up
- 50% rebate on the tuition fee for the first year of the Double Degree - Bachelor of Business Administration & Bachelor in Business and Artificial Intelligence or the Bachelor in Business and Artificial Intelligence
- Plus free Esade Admissions Test
If no applications meet the eligibility criteria or guidelines, the Girls in STEM Esade Challenge Committee reserves the right to declare a prize void.
