This book summarizes the research undertaken during the 2014-15 academic year by the Esade-PwC Social Leadership Program on collaborations between NGOs and high-impact companies. The book presents four types of collaborations:  

1. Efforts combined to gain sustainable efficiency.  

2. Improvements in the quality of social intervention through complementary skills.  

3. Efforts to generate social innovations; and  

4. Encouragement for local and global changes.  

The book then describes the current situation and details 11 specific cases of cross-sector collaboration, explaining the origins and conditions of each, as well as the benefits for the partners involved and the social impact achieved. The book ends with the lessons learned.
