The second workshop of the academic year of the Observatorio EsadeGeo Fundación Repsol de Geopolítica de la Transición Energética took place this Wednesday, February 14th at the Esade Madrid campus.

Entilted ‘‘Reindustrialization and decarbonization in the EU’’, it brought together different representatives from the public, private and academic sectors in the fields of industry, energy and infrastructure to discuss the role of the private sector in the decarbonization of the EU, with a particular focus on the implications for business the Green Industrial strategy will have. 

The workshop was led by Dr. Nils Redeker, Senior fellow at Bruegel (Brussels), who addressed the challenge facing the EU in reconciling competitiveness, economic security, decarbonisation, social cohesion, and fiscal consolidation. Redeker also stated that the energy crisis of recent years will reinforce the European Green Deal, boosting the EU's cost competitiveness and the cost of Europe's electricity supply. The event was moderated by Angel Saz-Carranza, Director of Esadegeo.
