Program structure

The program of the MSc in Entrepeneurship and Innovation is built around a precision-designed curriculum that will build your knowledge, insights, and skills to exploit opportunities. It has been created to prepare you to launch a start-up or to drive innovation within an existing company.

You'll master the core essentials of entrepreneurial management and explore areas such as opportunity appraisal and the design of conceptual business models. As you learn, you will build an innovation skillset as well as a “can do” approach to problem-solving and idea development.

At Esade we are committed to business with positive impact. So the program will emphasise incorporating responsible business practices and socially beneficial values.

You will emerge prepared to lead innovation, from managing corporate innovation systems (intrapreneurship) to creating new business opportunities and models (entrepreneurship).

I2P Course: Innovation in Action

The I2P course in Esade’s Master in Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a highly practical subject where students tackle real-world software challenges using no-code tools and AI. Teams follow design thinking and agile methodologies to develop a functional prototype, presented on Demo Day.

Business Integration Path (BIP)

JULY - SEPTEMBER

Esade Master in Management programs are primarily targeted at those with undergraduate degrees in business administration or economics.
 
If your degree is in a different discipline, we still invite you to apply. The Admissions Committee will assess your candidacy and, if admitted, we will ask you to enrol in the Business Integration Path (BIP) course, which will give you a grounding in management basics.

Online module: 1st July 2025 - 25th August 2025

4 self learning online courses that have to be completed before the beginning of the on campus classes.

Welcome Week

Official Program Start: 15th September 2025

The Esade Welcome Week is designed to help you hit the ground running. You'll get to know the Esade management teams, find out how the Master's in Innovation and Entrepreneurship fits into the broader context of the business school, and get a full overview of the program's academics, and career services. You'll learn what is expected of you and we'll help you to make your time at Esade a success, sharing some proven tips and guidelines. Group work is a key element of the Master's program and you'll have the opportunity to get to know the other MSc participants straight away as you begin your journey together.

The Esade Welcome Week is mandatory.

Term 1: Innovation & Entrepreneurship Foundations | 20 ECTS

SEPTEMBER– DECEMBER

An introduction to the world of Innovation and entrepreneurship, consisting of five core courses covering a wide range of disciplines:

Business in Society (4 ECTS)

  • Is intended to help students think critically about the ethical, social, and environmental issues they may face in the business world. It aims to analyze the role of business in creating a sustainable society and planet, and to understand the impact of business activities on society.

Creative Thinking (4 ECTS)

  • Helps students develop essential skills in creativity and innovation. The course aims to provide a practical and hands-on approach to fostering creative thinking, enabling students to move from conceptual thinking to action. It emphasizes the development of a common language, a useful set of tools, and an applied creativity process.

Entrepreneurship (4 ECTS)

  • Designed to prepare students to be entrepreneurs, managers or investors in a new and dynamic environment. It teaches a comprehensive understanding of the world of innovation and entrepreneurship, covering a wide range of disciplines and offering cutting-edge concepts and curriculum.

Exploring the Opportunity (4 ECTS)

  • Is dedicated to preparing students to identify and capitalize on opportunities, whether by launching a start-up or driving innovation within an existing organization. The course emphasizes the development of innovation skills and a "can do" approach to problem solving and idea development.

Innovation management (4 ECTS)

  • It involves the analysis of innovation management practices in established companies and makes recommendations on how they should change. The goal is to provide students with the skills, insights, and innovative mindset needed to identify opportunities, build connections, and bring new business ventures to life.

Term 2: Advanced Innovation & Entrepreneurship | 12 ECTS

JANUARY - MARCH

This module will give you greater insight into the following areas:

Advanced Strategy for Entrepreneurs and Innovators (3 ECTS)

  • Focuses on how founders, CEOs, and strategists design and implement strategies to sustain and improve business performance, and is aimed at providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to develop and implement advanced strategies in the context of entrepreneurship and innovation.

Finance for Entrepreneurs and Innovators (3 ECTS)

  • Is intended to help students understand the practices and analyze the challenges that entrepreneurs face when seeking financing for seed or start-up ventures. It provides insight into the specific financial considerations and obstacles faced by entrepreneurs and innovators, and offers the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the financial landscape associated with new business ventures.

Marketing for Entrepreneurs and Innovators (3 ECTS)

  • The course is dedicated to providing students with a solid understanding of marketing strategies tailored to the specific needs of entrepreneurial ventures, enabling them to meet the challenges of effectively bringing new products and services to market.

Product management for Entrepreneurs and Innovators (3 ECTS)

  • The course offers a combination of lectures, case studies, group assignments and class discussions, as well as hands-on product development. It is focused on preparing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage and bring new products to market in a rapidly evolving and competitive environment.

Internship Innovation Project (I2P) | 5 ECTS

JANUARY - APRIL

The Internship Innovation Project (I2P) exposes you to real-life business challenges issued by a range of Spanish companies. You will work together with you teammates in order to find innovative solutions to real business problems. 

Companies that have collaborated in previous years: Softonic, Hakuna, Bolhofff, Sweap.io, Archimedes ventures, MIM habits, Pektogram. 

These may vary each year.

Term 3: Electives | 11 ECTS

MAY - JULY

The wide range of electives offered during this term will allow you to tailor the program to your specific career goals. 

You can choose a minimum of 11 ECTS, all with a strong practical focus. The courses feature a highly interactive methodology and are largely based on your own initiative and work.
