Program structure

The purpose of the PhD is to train individuals who will become leading scholars in their fields and working in top Business schools globally.

 

You will initially be registered for an MRes, which comprises the specialized research coursework of the PhD. An acacemic committee assesses all students for transfer to the PhD in accordance with three criteria:

• academic records of the candidate,
• research skills demonstrated during the MRes
• the match between the candidate research interests and Esade's lines of research.

There is a specific process of direct registration as PhD for students who have already a Master of Research or another type of clearly research oriented Master.

At the PhD you will learn in small classes, engaging with faculty members on significant Research problems of interest to both the academic and Business communities. The remaining time will be spent conducting original Research culminating in a doctoral dissertation. In total, doctoral training (M.Res and PhD) takes 4 years.

PhD Candidates are expected to work closely with Esade Faculty Members.

The program emphasizes a strong fundation in both methodological and theoretical training.
