Abstract

Modern slavery is an important global social issue, which is affecting the fashion industry given that the growing demand for cheap, fast fashion can lead to worker exploitation. In this talk, Dr Amy Benstead will provide an overview of her Modern Slavery research form a supply chain perspective. Amy has conducted action research in the fashion industry and her discussion will focus on the detection and remediation of modern slavery in supply chains.  Findings are presented from a first-hand account of the detection process in South East Asia.
