Biografia
És Doctor en Ciències Econòmiques i Socials i Màster en Ciències Mediambientals per la Universitat de Lüneburg Alemanya. És professor honorari de la University of Sydney Business School.
Abans d'incorporar-se a ESADE, fou professor d'una escola de negocis a França i director de projectes d'un institut de recerca sense finalitat de lucre a Alemanya. Els seus coneixements se centren en les àrees de la sostenibilitat empresarial u la responsabilitat social de l'empresa. Els seus principals àmbits de recerca són les tensions i paradoxes de la sostenibilitat corporativa i la RSE, l'avaluació de l'acompliment de la sostenibilitat, les estratègies per a la sostenibilitat corporativa i el comportament dels stakeholders.
La seva recerca ha estat publicada en revistes científiques com l'Academy of Management Review, Organization Studies, Ecological Economics, l'International Journal of Production Economics, el Journal of Business Ethics, Business & Society, Organization & Environment i Business Strategy and the Environment.
És editor sènior de la revista Organization & Environment. També és membre del comitè editorial de l'Academy of Management Review, el Journal of Business Ethics, Business & Society i Business Strategy and the Environment. 2016-2020, és el president del Grup per a la Recerca en Organitzacions i l'Entorn Natural Group for Research on Organizations and the Natural Environment, GRONEN.
