Biography
Nonyelum Lina Eze (Lina) has completed his Ph.D. degree entitled "Informal institutions
and their influences on the family, the family business, and ethnic group: A macro-,
meso-, and micro-context investigation" on the 4th March 2021 (Esade Business School,
Spain). She holds a Master of Research in Management Sciences (Esade Business School,
Spain), Master of Science in Environmental Diagnostic (Cranfield University, UK),
and Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (University of Benin, Nigeria). Lina's recently
published work explored the roles of religion and tradition for transgenerational
entrepreneurship in family businesses in a developing context that is not prevalent
in mainstream literature. Other research works in her pipeline are the influences
of informal institutions on the family and family business and the ethnic perspective
of entrepreneurship propagation. Lina has received awards for her research work, such
as the "Best Paper Award" at the workshop on Family Firm Management (EIASM 2018-Cyprus)
and the "Best Family Business Paper" award from the Entrepreneurship Division at Academy
of Management 2019 (Boston, US). She is currently a postdoctoral researcher attached
to the Esade Entrepreneurship Institute.
Besides her academic career, Lina has had several years of experience working with
family businesses in Nigeria in different sectors and positions. She has worked in
the banking sector, various consulting firms, and an Information Technology firm that
she co-founded and still serves as a board member.
