On Tuesday, October 8th, EsadeGeo held the workshop ‘‘Integration and Resilience. European Single Market as the basis for Open Strategic Autonomy’’ at Esade Madrid campus. The event was co-organised by Agenda Pública and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain as part of the ''Hablamos de Europa'' initiative. 

The event gathered academics, journalists and representatives from both the public and private sector to discuss the role that Single Market integration plays as a key driver for advancing Open Strategic Autonomy, as well as the obstacles encountered in the integration of sectors such as energy, telecommunications, banking, defence or capital markets. 

The workshop was moderated by Juan Moscoso del Prado, senior fellow of EsadeGeo, and Raquel Jorge Ricart, researcher at Real Instituto Elcano. Participants included Ester Sabatino (Research Associate for Defence and Military Analysis, International Institute for Strategic Studies), Miguel Gil Tertre (Chief Economist of the Directorate General for Energy, European Commission), Eva Michaels (Assistant Professor, ISGA of the Hague), Diego de Ojeda García-Pardo (Head of Unit of Foreign, Security and Defence Policy Secretariat General, European Commission), Catherine Barnard (Professor, University of Cambridge), Mary Veronica Tovsak Pleterski (Director for Single Market Enforcement of the Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, European Commission), Francesc Pont (Head of the International Economy and G20 Unit, Office of the Prime Minister of Spain) and Antonio Rodríguez de Liévana (General for the Coordination of the Internal Market and other Community Policies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation of Spain).
