A European War in Ukraine: Geopolitical and Economic Consequences for the EU
The invasion of Ukraine has been a turning point in global geopolitics. This is especially true for the European Union, which has responded to a war on European soil with consensual security and defense measures that would have been unimaginable just two months ago. Is this Hamiltonian moment in European security? What role has Germany played as the driving force in this change? Have sanctions been effective? What will Europe’s priorities be when the war ends?
To analyze the impact of the conflict on Europe’s international role, Esade, faithful to its mission to contribute to social debate, is organizing a webinar in which Koldo Echebarria, Esade’s Director General, will speak with Elina Ribakova, Deputy Chief Economist at the Institute of International Finance, and Jan Wouters, Full Professor and Jean Monnet Chair at the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies.
